Secondary school principals reject new resumption date

The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools on Thursday rejected the September 22 resumption date announced by the Federal Government. Continue...

According to "Punch Newspaper", in a telephone interview, the National Secretary of ANCONPPS, Mr. Kevin Nwankwo, said there was no evidence of any preventive measures already taken by the states to curb the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease, hence he asked the Federal Government to rescind its decision on the announced date.

He further said: “Our position is not different from the position of the Nigeria Union of Teachers. We need to take cognisanse of the observation of the Nigeria Medical Association, saying that government was under pressure.

"There is simply nothing to show that we are ready to reopen schools yet", he said.

 Itomie says:

Ebola Boots
Ebola Outfit for kids

Are schools the only places where people are gathering?

Consider also Churches and Sunday School gatherings, Political gatherings, Mosques, Crusades etc.

The answer to the existence of Ebola and the possible spread would be Proactive measures which Schools should also take and sensitize their pupils so to change bad hygiene habits. Schools should put their own measures in place as Government has done well in curtailing the decease and should be highly commended as now they say  there is no Ebola Patient presently in Nigeria we must believe them. Who says another Ebola Patient would not turn up in Nigeria on the new resumption date proposed by the Nigeria confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools and what then?  Should we continue to postpone resumption dates indefinitely so to please one sector of society who on their own have not gone ahead to ensure that their schools are equipped to isolate any suspected ebola case? On a lighter note, perhaps they should have kids come back in a new Ebola prevention outfit for the 2014/15 session .. and why not?

 ..check this out..dig?
