ALL THE GLITZ AND GLAMOUR OF NATIVE AND VOGUE 2014

This year’s edition of the Port Harcourt Native and Vogue contest had several fashion exhibitions, music, humour and presentation of awards at a three-day event, held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from penultimate Friday to Sunday.

The fashion week was an assembly of top designers and models across the African Continent to celebrate the totality of African Fashion. This was in line with the belief of the state governor, Honourable Rotimi. Amaechi, that fashion and creative arts are parts of the human and capital resources that are yet to be tapped in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, in the build-up to the 2014 Port Harcourt International Fashion week, said the event show was a diversion from the oil economy and expressed optimism that it would open new economic opportunities for the people of Rivers State. According to her, Native and Vogue was designed as a dual platform to groom emerging designers and showcase established designers adding that it was positioned to drive and grow the local fashion industry into sustainable globally competitive brands.
