The International-Coalition for African Fashion (I-CAF), a not-for-profit retail industry association, is offering New Yorkers the opportunity to shop the latest African fashion designs during its inaugural retail clothing and accessories pop-up boutique in SoHo at 103 Allen Street, NY, NY, on Saturday, October 18, 12-7PM EST. A special limited seating business workshop will take place from 10am-11:30am for indie and intermediate designers and entrepreneurs with guest speakers including Charnier Corey of Leisure Life NYC boutique, Yvonne Kai; renowned fashion blogger, Barbara Clark Ruiz; retail consultant and buyer, along with private equity firm representatives from Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co.
In its first year, I-CAF aims to introduce African fashion designers to the NYC market using pop-up shop events that will pool together fashion industry professionals, trendsetters and consumers, who seek to explore and taste designs from Africa. Spearheading I-CAF’s focus on Afri-Pop, CEO Sudie Nallo says, "Autumn is a great time to highlight African fashion, to celebrate the designs and colors that are in season and also to remind consumers of the fabrics, trends and styles available within African fashion."
