SA Fashion event to fight malaria


Goodbye Malaria is an initiative by African entrepreneurs who believe that African creativity can solve Africa’s problems. The initiative raises funds that go to the Global Fund and Roll Back Malaria to support on-the-ground malaria elimination programs in Mozambique such as spraying houses to protect families from the malaria-infected mosquitos.

“Malaria is a significant public health challenge in Africa and kills approximately 1.2 Million people per year,” says Allana Finley from Goodbye Malaria.

“That’s one child every 60 seconds and more people in total than lung cancer with 91% of malaria deaths occurring in Africa, 86% of the deaths were in children under the ages of five years. This is an epidemic that we must fight together in order to save the future of our continent.”

Designers such as Kluk CGDT, C2 Carducci, Stefania Morland, Loin Cloth & Ashes by Anisa Mpungwe and Craig Port will be showcasing their latest collections.

Goodbye Malaria who will showcase their shweshwe pyjama’s, bracelets and mashozi bear which are sold in an effort to fund the critical work that they do for rural homes in Mozambique that are plagued by Mosquitos.

Former Miss South Africa, Miss World Africa and top ten finalist for Miss Universe, Tatum Keshwar will host the evening alongside actor, businessman and current presenter for the home lifestyle, travel, and celebrity show Top Billing’s Nico Panagio.

You can expect an exciting evening of classic cars, fine cuisine, entertainment and fashion at the Pretoria Country Club Tonight.
