How Ankara Won Over A Police Man

Mom & Baby Rocking Ankara
What in Gods name you may be asking but there you are it is a fact. Many motorists just love having that lazy feeling behind their wheels as they cruise their cars the world over. And many motorist will also attest to the fact that meeting the Police on the road creates tension to say the least but when you are pulled over? Well your pressure goes up in notch. On the faithful day, a weekend to be exact a friend who had been nursing her new baby insisted that she must be picked up and taken somewhere fun as baby was now old enough to mingle. I protested because I just didn't see the day starting and ending anytime soon. In fact, I was almost happy that she had had to take three months off to nurse her baby. Unfortunately her time of 'incarceration 'was almost over and preparations for Child dedication was in full gear. I was now being dragged kicking and screaming into it. Somewhere fun happened to have been the various boutiques in town shopping for the latest lace and Headtie.

Just as I was asking her how many more of these boutiques we needed to visit, turning the corner there they were. One quickly stepped in front of my car and that very urge came over me with a twinkle in my eye (I would'nt say what urge but leave that to your imagination) so I slammed on my brakes and pulled over. Slowly winding down my window I could hear him say "show me your particulars”I greeted him politely and he painstakingly checked for any fault with my papers. My confidence was high as l thought 'hmm I got you stitched up my friend'....but wait he said “where is your tinted glass permit ?” My heart leaped as l thought Damn l don't have one? With a sigh l was resigned to what comes next. He said “ come out of your car and follow me to my Oga”

At that point in time baby let out to scream. My attention was drawn to the fact that I could carry the baby with me to get some sympathy so I quickly said to my friend “give me the baby" baby and I were marched off to Oga(superior) and as we stood in the heat, me bouncing baby like a yo yo , baby truly expressed her displeasure and Oga could not get in a word edgewise. Surprisingly , Oga said “ baby your dress fine o!” And smiled. I had not even noticed that baby was wearing Ankara which is rare "let them go “ he said with a warning to get my permit ,thank you Sir! I barked at him.
Practically running back to the car I asked hey Who made this dress for you? My friend looked shocked because that wasn't what she expected to hear me say and so she asked why? Why? I retorted , because it just saved the day. Baby's dress just saved the day!

This is exactly how stupid Police are, always showing up at the very wrong time to frustrate one's day
