Renown South African Afro-Soul Singer Simphiwe Dana will Perform in Nairobe on November 9

Renown South African Afro-soul singer Simphiwe Dana will perform in Nairobi during the fourth edition of Koroga Festival slated for November 9 at the Arboretum.
"All roads lead to Nairobi this November. We are doing Pan African tings. Join us. #AfricaReimagined," an excited Simphiwe posted on her Twitter page.
Often compared to Miriam Makeba, Amy Winehouse and Billie Holiday for her compelling vocals, Dana, 34, is known for her musicality and smooth vocals that blends traditional African music, contemporary soul, jazz, rap and hints of gospel and blues. Among the songs in her repertoire are Ndiredi, Troubled Soldier, Bantu Biko Street, Uzobuya Nini and Naphakade.
She has won numerous awards among them the 2005 Best Newcomer award and Best Jazz Vocal album at the South African Music Awards and the Best Female Artiste with the song The One Love Movement on Bantu Biko Street, at the same award in 2007.
Kenyan artistes to grace the bi-monthly music picnic — which aims at reflecting Kenya's brilliant and diverse local talent, whilst showcasing leading African artistes through music, fashion, food and arts — will be Atemi, Amileena, DJ Protege and DJ Adrian.
