The Importance of Perfume

Who doesn’t love perfume? It can complete an outfit, uplift your mood and give you confidence to get through any day. So now you know what each type of perfume is (Analysing the power of your perfume scent) it’s important that you’re aware of the impact it has on not only you but also those around you.
Choosing perfume is a very individual thing, not only because your tastes are different to those of your friends but also because a perfume will slightly change when it touches and reacts with your skin. When you smell a perfume on a friend it may very well smell differently on you.

You may have noticed this before having sprayed a perfume onto a tester (rather than your skin), loved the scent and purchased it only to then spray it on your own skin and not like it as much.
To avoid this happening you should first spray the perfume on the tester, then onto your wrist before making the purchase. Also remember, the base note is the scent that’s going to last the longest so it should be something you really like.

There are hundreds of choices available, from light, barely-there scents to strong and powerful fragrances. We use perfumes to make a good impression, distinguish ourselves from others and to enhance our mood.
For example, a vanilla based perfume may help to keep you calm; a fruity choice might help to keep you more alert while a musky scent may make you feel more sensual.

The sense of smell is a powerful one and helps us to make connections and bring back fond memories perhaps of a friend or of a holiday.
While most of us will have our reliable ‘signature scent’ we generally still like to purchase a new scent for the changing seasons and even for day and night wear.

You may find that your favourite perfume you wear during the Christmas season is too heavy for other months.

Choose carefully and spend time picking the ones that are right for you.
