Wear the Right Outfit for the Right Occasion, Says Aisha Uwimana, popularly known as Ciney

How would you describe your dress sense?
My dress sense is influenced by the day's events depending on the tasks. If I'm performing I usually blend my outfit with African designs using African fabric and modern trends. In my everyday life, I dress up in a very simple manner. For example I like tight tops and jeans and ballet shoes. I don't wear high heels unless I'm going for an event that requires such.

What's your favourite clothing item?
I love trousers, especially jeans. I feel more comfortable in trousers. Its funny I can wear trousers week in week out.

Where do you shop for clothes?
That's a funny question! (she laughs). I don't have a specific place where I shop although I have a woman who usually brings me trendy outfits. There is something about Nyamirambo. I always buy something when I go to Nyamirambo.

What do you consider when shopping clothes?
I first of all consider how the outfit looks when I put it on. Then the colour factor comes into play as well as the quality. I will buy anything that is blue or red as long as it fits me.

What is your favourite fashion accessory?
My favourite fashion accessory is a watch. I never leave home without it.

What is your favourite clothing item on a guy?
A smart guy for me is one who wears a nice shirt, casual fitting trousers and casual shoes. Honestly speaking, a guy in shoes that are pointed at the front is a real turn off for me, especially on a casual outfit.

What's your favourite scent?
My favourite perfumes are Miss Dior and Loretta.

What is the most expensive fashion accessory in your wardrobe and what led you into buying it?
I have two expensive things in my wardrobe that I bought myself; a blue dinner dress and a handbag.
Any fashion advice?
We are different when it comes to fashion. We have different tastes and preferences but what matters is wearing the right outfit for the right occasion.
