Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche is the man who until last week
(Nov. 24) was accused of being the mastermind behind the deadly Nyanya
bombings of April 14, 2014. Over 75 people were killed and almost 200
injured in that deadly attack at a bus station during the morning rush
hour.
Last week his case was however dismissed and Ogwuche freed by an Abuja court.
Yesterday (Dec. 4) via his lawyer the former terror suspect sued the
courts for being illegally detained without a trial, he is demanding
N100 Million as compensation from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
According to Vanguard,
Ogwuche insisted that his continued detention in the custody of the Department of State Security, DSS, amounted to ?a gross abuse of his fundamental human rights as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution. He contended that ?the Federal Government, having breached his constitutional rights, ought to be compelled by the court to pay damages to him.
29 year old, Ogwuche was apprehended in Sudan and extradited to
Nigeria to face charges for being the mastermind behind the April terror
attacks. The case was allegedly thrown out of court because of
bickering between the Police and the DSS over which of them should
conduct the trial. that1960chick
