It was gathered that the robbers disarmed one of the night guards at the bank, and shot him on the chest.
Due to this incidence, most of the customers who came to transact business could not be attended to as the doors were under lock and keys.
None of the bank officials was ready to say anything, as they directed enquiries to their head office in Lagos.
The attack sent fears to other banks in the metropolis as many of them hurriedly shut their doors against customers.
Customers who spoke to journalists lamented incessant attacks on banks in the state and called on the government to address it without further delay.
When contacted, the state police commissioner, Mr Taiwo Lakanu admitted that the ATM unit of the bank was actually attacked, but said police had no record of any life lost.
Lakanu added that one of the attackers had been arrested and is helping the police to nab others.
The CP said his men were already investigating, adding that those connected with the robbery would be apprehended.
