She has surely been away from the music scene for a while but Kenyan music act, Marya is set to make a come back on the entertainment playground, this time as an actress in Passenger 47. The movie is an action flick and will have Marya play the lead role of a super heroine and speaking with Word Is, the ‘Chokoza’ singer expressed her excitement towards her debut movie. ‘The movie is about passengers in a bus travelling to Nairobi and they are hijacked and get into an accident, all in all, out of 47 passengers only three survive the journey. The character I play is one of an action hero, to prepare for it I asked the producer to give me the script a day in advance and I immersed myself into the role by getting my mind, body and soul to understand the character. Everyone has a dark side and I’m excited about it, people will love it, after this I plan to shoot more movies,’ she said. Marya, who was regarded as one of the top female singers in Kenya before her hiatus, is popularly known for singles – ‘Hey Baby’ and ‘Mahaba’....
