South African President Jacob Zuma Promises to Pay 50,000 Rands to Citizens with HIV Status Tattoo

South African president, Jacob Zuma, has reportedly promised to pay 50,000 Rands (about N840,000) to confirmed HIV positive citizens who tattoo their status near their genital area.

In addition to the money, such individuals will also be given free counseling and medication, Vanguard reports.
The initiative is said to be contained in a newly signed bill by the president, and has been widely regarded as a great step in helping to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country which has the highest HIV prevalence in Africa.
Reports state that only the first 10 million people (who already tested positive) to volunteer to have their HIV statuses tatted near their genitals would be given the money in form of a funeral expense voucher.
