Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari Emerges As Chairman Of Nigeria Governors’ Forum

Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State on Monday, May 18, 2015 emerged as the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), replacing Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.

He was elected following a unified meeting of the governors which was held at the Lagos/Osun Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, with twenty governors attending or sending representatives.

Reading the communique of the meeting to reporters was Governor Amaechi who availed that Governor Yari would be serving for just one year.Prior to his emergence, Governor Yari served as the deputy chairman of the forum, although no deputy was elected on Monday, May 18, 2015.
