Iize Saunders To Represent South Africa At The International Miss Earth In The South Earth

The newly crowned Miss Earth SA Ilze Saunders will represent South Africa at the International Miss Earth in the South East. 
 
She will spend three weeks travelling throughout the Philippines visiting schools and communities, promoting environmental campaigns and programmes as well as meeting with dignitaries and environmental bodies across the region. 
 
Media and sponsors gathered on Tuesday at the Penthouse, Tsogoi Sun Palazzo Hotel to bid farewell to the newly crowned Miss Earth SA.
 
Miss Earth SA will showcase a one-of-a-kind National Costume in Manila, a custom designed piece created by Sonwabile Ndamase from Vukani Range Creations. Delegates are also required to present an eco-dress which has to made from responsibly sourced and up-cycled materials.
 
She will also be representing South Africa, by wearing a design created by Louis from Louis Designs and Flintsky Design, sponsored by the Botanical Society of South Africa. Her showstopper evening garment is designed by South African designer, Joe de Canha. 
 
“Her hard work, hands on involvement and tenacity will stand her in good stead. We are proud of her efforts as a green ambassador, not only for Miss Earth SA, but also for our beautiful country,” says Miss Earth SA executive director, Catherine Constantinides.
 
Miss Earth South Africa is a leadership programme that aims to empower young South African women with the knowledge and platform to create a sustainable difference in combatting the destruction of our natural heritage.
